CBU Students Up To the Challenge

Walmart Green ChallengeCape Breton University Shannon School of Business students, Stephanie MacLean, Kurt Boone, Andrew Weatherbee and Omar Hassan El-Arnaoudy proved that they were up to the challenge by impressively placing third in the Walmart Green Challenge.


They presented their sustainable business idea of paperless receipts through a smartphone app to some of Canada’s Top CEOs including Shelley Broader, President and CEO of Walmart Canada; John Guarino. President of Coca-Cola Refreshments Canada; John LeBoutillier, President of Unilever Canada; Michael McCain, President and CEO of Maple Leaf Foods; and Peter Robinson, CEO of The David Suzuki Foundation. Other finalists included representation from the University of Calgary, University of Western Ontario, University of Waterloo and York University.
