Cape Breton University (CBU) will celebrate the achievements of nearly 630 students during its Spring Convocation Ceremony being held on May 9 at 2 p.m. at the Canada Games Complex, CBU Campus.
This year, graduates represent 19 countries including Canada, Norway, United States, Kuwait, France, Ghana and more. The 2015 Spring Convocation valedictorian is Bachelor of Arts / Bachelor of Business Administration grad, Hosam Alarabi of Saudi Arabia – he is very proud to be representing the graduating class.
Notably, CBU will graduate its first male Aboriginal nursing students, Athanasius Sylliboy and Terrance Bernard, both of Eskasoni, NS. More grad stories can be found here.
Cape Breton University is also pleased to be honouring an outstanding and exceptional group of leaders with honorary degrees. This year, John L. Bragg, Donald R. Sobey, David F Sobey will each receive a Doctor of Laws, honoris causa and The Barra MacNeils will be bestowed a Doctor of Letters, honoris causa.
The ceremony will be available online at www.cbu.ca/convocation and will begin just before 2 p.m. on Saturday.
