CBU Boardmore Theatre Ready to Celebrate 40 Years of Theatre

Four decades of life, marriage, and even employment, are common milestones people celebrate everyday but 40 years of ground breaking theatre is reason to plan something spectacular. The CBU Boardmore Theatre is calling on all actors, directors, playwrights and technicians to be a part of this incredible Season of Plays.

Artistic Director, Todd Hiscock, says this year’s season is going to be special, “We’re inviting those who took part in the past to consider returning and we are always happy to introduce new comers to the theatre. Our 40th Season includes some important new Canadian theatre, like Vimy, some classic musical theatre, Oklahoma, along with Aphra Behn’s The Rover, the first English play to present the Battle of the Sexes from a female point of view, and Robin Hood, a play for young audiences. We need actors (age 13 and up),singers, dancers, as well as technicians, stage managers, and stage crew.”

Auditions are by appointment and are scheduled for September 18-19. Those interested may contact Todd Hiscock for details.

The Elizabeth Boardmore One Act Play Festival is an important part of the season. The festival allows experienced and new theater practitioners to work on established and new pieces. Original scripts must be submitted for consideration by September 30.

Plans are underway also for a special event to commemorate the end of this extraordinary year. Stay tuned for more exciting details on that. For details on the 40th Season of Plays visit the website at www.cbu.ca and follow the community link.
