Glen LeBlanc, currently Chief Financial Officer of BCE affiliate Bell Aliant, will become Chief Financial Officer of BCE and Bell Canada when Siim Vanaselja retires in the second quarter of 2015.
Glen was born and raised in Sydney, NS. In 1986, he began his Bachelor of Business Administration degree at CBU and was a member of the men’s soccer team, then under the direction of Coach Jack Porter.
Glen has served more than 2 decades of his finance career with Bell Aliant and its predecessor companies. Joining Aliant in 1993, he held increasingly senior executive positions before being appointed Vice President, Finance and Controller in 2000 and Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer in 2005. Recognized as one of Canada’s Top 40 Under 40, Mr. LeBlanc has served on the board of Certified Management Accountants of Nova Scotia since 2005 and has stayed connected to CBU over the years. He is a past member of the CBU Board of Governors and was a key supporter of CBU’s bid to host the 2007 Aliant CIS Women’s Soccer Championships. In 2009, he chaired CBU’s Creating Champions Campaign to raise $2 million for student athlete scholarships and bursaries.
