Boardmore Playhouse Wins Four Awards at Prestigious International Festival

The Boardmore Playhouse received four awards for their performance at the 12th Biennial Liverpool International Theatre Festival (LITF).

The festival took place from May 14-18 at the Astor Theatre in Liverpool, N.S. Boardmore presented Samuel Beckett’s Krapp’s Last Tape, from their 2014 One Act Festival of Plays.

The awards include: Best Actor, Gary Walsh; Best Director, Rod Nicholls; Best Canadian Production; and Best Visual Presentation. Krapp’s Last Tape was one of twelve outstanding plays to take the stage during the festival, with just 11 awards up for grabs.

A five-day festival, LITF showcases outstanding amateur theatre from across North America and around the world. Theatre companies are required to apply for one of twelve spots in order to perform at the festival.

The Boardmore Playhouse previously attended LITF in 2004 where their production of Ken Jessome’s Reading took home the “Best Canadian Production” award.
