Auditions to be Held for CBU’s Boardmore Theatre’s 42nd Season of Plays

An exciting new Season of Plays is set to begin this fall at Cape Breton University, and the Boardmore Theatre is putting a call out to actors, playwrights and volunteers. Auditions take place on Saturday, September 15 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, September 16 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Boardmore Playhouse; auditions are by appointment only and for actors age 13 and up.

Actors should prepare a one to two minute contemporary monologue and a short song. A resume and recent photo is required. Playwrights interested in submitting original work to the New Play Development Workshop must do so by September 30. Published plays for the One-Act-Play Festival are due on November 30.

Roles are available for the following plays:

  • The Company Store – November  27 to December  2
  • Six Characters in Search of an Author – January 22-27
  • Anything Goes – February 26 to March 3
  • The Elizabeth Boardmore One-Act Play Festival – March 22- 30
