CBU students are welcome to borrow from the Library. Your myCBUcard is your library card. You must register your ID card with the library at the beginning of each academic year to access our services (Visit Registering with the Library). Books have a general loan period of 3 weeks. Fines for late returns are at a rate of 25¢ per day, per item.
Note: Borrowing policies will vary for Reserve and Special Collection items.
To search for books, articles, and other items in our online catalogue, you sign in to Novanet (Find Sign in on the top right):

Course reserves are materials set aside by instructors for their students.
Search for items by your instructor’s name, course number, book title, and more. When you find an item, write down the call number (e.g., H 62 R737 2005 or PROF A-5) and bring it to the Circulation Desk.
Find resources and tips that are useful for course assignments.
The CBU Library holds regional and local important documents and materials that have been developed by CBU alumni and community members. Enjoy exploring our unique collections.
Books and other materials may be requested from outside libraries. Items from other Nova Scotia university libraries may be requested through “Novanet Express”, from other libraries through “Document Delivery”. Please visit Interlibrary Loans to learn more.
The Research Assistance Desk offers library help, user education programs and online searching assistance for the library’s patrons.
During the regular school year, a librarian or library technician is available at the Research Assistance Desk during regular hours. Also check Library FAQs.
