Certificate of Completion FAQs

  • Do I get a certificate of completion if I am registering for the course either in-person or online?

    Yes, you can receive a certificate of completion for the course if you register to do so and complete all the criteria. You can register for the certificate of completion here.

  • What are the criteria that I need to meet to receive a certificate of completion for taking the course?

    The criteria are as follows:

    1. People interested in receiving a certificate of completion for taking the course must register their interest in obtaining a certificate before the end of March 2016 by filling out the form online here.
    2. To qualify for a certificate of completion, Learners must write a 250 word personal reflection on every session (11 in total) addressing the question “What did I take from this session that better helps me understand Mi’kmaq knowledge?”   Learners must submit these reflections together with a 300 word ‘summary reflection’ on the whole course addressing the question “What did taking this course mean to me?” Details of where your reflections can be submitted will be available shortly. We ask that when you do submit your final reflections in April that they are in one PDF document. The entire document should be submitted before the end of April 2016.
    3. A fee of $75 CAD (taxes included) will be required before you will receive your certificate of completion. Payment details will be available shortly.
    4. Subject to payment, the two certificates will be issued (one in each language) and returned to the Learner together with personalised feedback. Individual CBU certificates of attendance will be provided, signed both by Dean Augustine and President Wheeler.   They will be provided in both Mi’kmaq and English.
  • How much is it to receive a certificate of completion for the course?

    To receive a certificate, the cost will be $75 CAD (taxes included). Payment details will be available shortly.

  • What is required for me to receive a certificate of completion for this course?

    No, you cannot submit an individual reflection every week. We ask that you please submit all 11 reflections at the same time, along with your 300 word ‘summary reflection’ on the whole course addressing the question “What did taking this course mean to me?” Details of where your reflections can be submitted will be available shortly. We ask that when you do submit your final reflections in April that they are in one PDF document. The entire document should be submitted before the end of April 2016.
