Working on Campus
Experience a workplace like no other! The CBU campus is a community in and of itself where ingenuity and academic, research and athletic excellence are celebrated. Imagine working in an environment where you play an important role in supporting and inspiring tomorrow’s leaders. Whether you are engaging students in the classroom, overseeing a production at the Boardmore Playhouse or maintaining our modern facilities – our employees are vital to our success.
There are many benefits to working at a small organization such as CBU. And it’s these same benefits that have attracted students from all over the world to our campus. Our vibrancy is fuelled by our students, staff and faculty as well as the facilities and services that are found on campus. The CBU Art Gallery, the Beaton Institute, the Boardmore Theatre and the Centre for Cape Breton Studies are the pillars of CBU’s arts culture. Once on campus make sure you take the time to enjoy them.
If needed, there are daycare services available and the Max Bell Health Centre is located on campus for your convenience. In recent years, the CBU campus has expanded to meet the needs of all its community members from the opening of Harriss Hall and the addition of the Cape Breton Health Recreation Complex to the Centre for Sustainability in Energy and the Environment and the newly renovated library. As buildings open, new ones break ground – construction for the Shannon School of Business Building has begun and students, faculty and staff can expect to occupy the space in 2012.
Most notably, at CBU we’re on a first-name basis, setting us apart from other workplaces of our size.
