Dining
Coffee, soup, salad, fresh sandwiches and a hot grille - you’ll find all this and more when you dine on campus at Cape Breton University. With two cafeterias and a Subway Restaurant there are plenty of options for students to choose from. Menus are designed to satisfy a diverse group with vegetarian and vegan options available.
Commons Café
Located in the heart of Campus Centre, the Commons Café is a popular spot for students to hangout between classes, grab a bite to eat or prepare for that next assignment. Students can choose from a variety of options that include fresh sandwiches, soups and salads, a hot grille that offers burgers, fries, clubhouses and more, and a culinary table that prepares delicious home-cooked meals. For those with a sweet tooth there is a selection of cookies, muffins and squares baked daily with tea and coffee available.
Roasters
Roasters is located in the Campus Cafeteria and is the only full-service coffee bar on campus. It offers fair-trade organic coffee, hot chocolate, specialty coffees and a mix of flavoured teas and coffees. Also found at Roasters are quick, grab-and-go lunches plus a large selection of dessert treats.
Harriss Hall Dining Room
The Dining Room at Harriss Hall is, along with the complex, the newest addition to CBU’s residence community. The Dining Room operates as an all you care to eat dining experience, with a wide range of options for students to choose from. There is a fresh soup and salad bar, pizzeria, a hot grille and culinary table that prepare hot and home-cooked meals daily. Also, for those students who wish to cook their own meals, My Pantry is an attractive option as it is equipped with appliances and food items that one would expect to find in a family kitchen. Students are encouraged to take advantage of this service and are even able to contribute to the grocery list for the pantry. In addition to the food options, the Dining Room also serves as a study hall and hang-out location for on-campus students.
Subway Restaurant
Subway is an alternative choice to the traditional university food options found on campus. Located in the Canada Games Complex next to the Bus Shelter, Subway offers a mix of subs, wraps, salads and soups with eat-in and take-out available.
