Connor Timmons

Memorial Scholarship & Bursary

Recognizing Athletic Excellence, Outstanding Community Service, and Demonstrated Leadership

The Connor Timmons Scholarship and Bursary Fund has been established to honour the memory of a former Cape Breton University student-athlete. On May 9, 2009, only four days shy of his 21st birthday, Connor Timmons died tragically in a car accident. A former member of the CBU men’s soccer team and son of Jari-Ann and Stephen “Ness” Timmons, head coach of the CBU women’s soccer team, Connor will be remembered as a tremendous young man.

Connor was a great son, brother, teammate and friend, to all who knew him. His smile, laugh, faith and personality lit up the room. His life was not long, but everyone who knew Connor is grateful for the time they were able to share with him while he was here. Connor lived every day as if it was a gift and he inspired this in all who encountered him. He lived by his own motto, “Too blessed to be stressed.” Connor was an inspiration to us all.

The goals for the fund are to raise money to provide financial awards to deserving Cape Breton University students displaying the characteristics of athletic excellence, community service and leadership that made Connor an extraordinary young man.
