So, you've been accepted to Cape Breton University and now it's time to pick your courses but you have no idea where to begin. Don't worry! CBU has mandatory academic advising sessions for first year students, so you don't have to go at it alone. Advising sessions begin the first week of July and continue throughout the summer, appointments can be made by calling one of the Secretaries to the Schools.
There are many advantages to these advising sessions. During your session you will talk privately with a faculty member about your academic and career aspirations and the courses you need to get there. Your advisor will work with you to tailor your schedule to fit your lifestyle. The sessions usually take about a half hour although time varies with each student.
Students are reminded that they can't register for courses until they have participated in an advising session. To make an advising appointment, contact the Secretaries to the Schools at 902-563-1368.
