Head Coach, Men’s Basketball

Requirements

CBU invites applications for the full-time term position of Head Coach, Men’s Basketball. This position is for up to a 4 year term.

CBU’s men’s basketball program has won four AUS championships and has been among the top 10 programs in Canada on a consistent basis. The Varsity Basketball Coach will play an important role in helping to build and guide a program which has been among the most successful in the AUS over the past decade. The Head Coach will play a role within the Student Life and Community Engagement mandate of the Department of Athletics and Student Life. While striving to achieve on-court excellence, the Men’s Basketball Head Coach will also play a leadership role in developing basketball programming in the broader Cape Breton Island community and supporting high-calibre student athletes to achieve success in the classroom and in their volunteer activities. The successful candidate will assist in providing support and leadership in all aspects of student life at CBU, including active support for intramural, health and wellbeing activities for both students and staff. The successful candidate may also contribute and teach within the newly formed Bachelor of Arts Community Studies (Sport and Physical Activity Leadership) program.
