CBU delivers a sixteen-month, 60 credit Bachelor of Education (Elementary and Intermediate/Secondary Education) program, a Master of Education in Sustainability, Creativity & Innovation, a variety of Diplomas and Certificates for in-service teachers, as well as an MEd (Information Technology) program in partnership with Memorial University of Newfoundland.
The Education Department is currently engaged in innovative program development and is interested in acquiring new faculty with teaching and research interests to support the Department’s vision and transition in these exciting directions.
The Education Department at CBU invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor to commence July 2016, subject to budget approval and with the possibility of the position being converted to limited term. The Department is seeking applications from candidates with strength in one or more of the following areas: Elementary Science Education; Inclusive Education and Health Promoting Schools; Innovation Education; Literacy Education; Secondary and/or Elementary Math Education. Candidates should have (or be near completion of) a doctoral degree in Education. Post-secondary teaching experience will be considered an important asset as well as teaching in the Canadian K-12 school system.
CBU teaches programs on campus, off campus in locations across Canada, on-line, and off campus in locations outside Canada. The university and it partners will therefore provide opportunities for faculty members to teach in different modes in different locations as part of their regular workload. While these opportunities may not be available equally for all faculty positions in all programs, a clear willingness to teach in different modes and locations will be noted as part of your application.
