Background
October 2005, the Seniors College at Cape Breton University held an inaugural Seniors College Open House. Seniors from all counties on Cape Breton attended. They met with course facilitators, obtained information on course selections, registered for courses. Close to 150 seniors attended the open house.
Over the past four years we offered non- credit courses in Computers, Modern Novel/Book Club, Health and Wellness, Financial Planning and Management, Cape Breton History, Active Living, Conversational French, Learn to Play the Violin, Genealogy, Opera, Poetry and Conversational Spanish.
Course Information
Courses are offered in the Fall, Winter and Spring. These courses are non-credit. Most courses are taught by seniors. Courses are 2 hours duration, offered once a week for 6 weeks, unless otherwise specified (Spring session: 5 weeks).
