Program Structure

Celtic Culture

Offered through the School of Arts and Social Sciences by CBU’s growing Heritage & Culture Department, a concentration in Celtic Culture is taken as part of a 3-year Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Arts Community Studies degree, which requires a total of 90 credits. Students must take a minimum of 30 credits in Celtic Culture to include courses in the Gaelic language, Celtic history, Celtic literature, and Celtic folklore and music. An additional 30 credits from the university’s core requirements plus 30 elective credits are required to complete a 3-year General BA or BACS degree.

Gaelic

Students wishing to minor in Gaelic must take a minimum of 18 credits in either the 4-year Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Arts Community Studies program. Students pursuing a minor in Gaelic will be encouraged to complete an exchange at Sabhal Mòr Ostaig, the Gaelic College on the Isle of Skye in Scotland.  Students who are unwilling or unable to complete the exchange will be able to complete the final 6 credits through tutorial.
