• When do courses begin?

    There are three start times for the program on campus: September, January, or JulyThe off-campus program is offered on an alternate-weekends and operates on continuous intake, although September (Edmonton) or January (Saskatoon) tend to be the best start times.

  • How long will it take me to earn an MBA while I am working?

    Learners can complete the program in:

    • 26 months for the July residential part-time program offered on Sydney NS campus
    • 24 months for the weekend-format off campus program offered in Edmonton, Saskatoon
    • 12 months for the full-time program offered on Sydney NS campus

    Students can also complete the program by taking classes in Sydney over three July residencies. Students who wish to accelerate program completion can mix formats and take courses on weekend in their city and July sessions in Sydney.

  • How much does it cost?

    Tuition is based on 16 courses and includes a one-time program fee ($415) and a provincial rebate of $128.30 per course. The net cost for Nova Scotia residents taking the courses at our Sydney campus is $18,474.20.

    The net cost for non-Nova Scotian Canadian residents taking courses at our Sydney campus (including program fee and provincial rebate of $26.10) is $20,109.40

    The cost for international students taking the program at our Sydney campus (including program fee and tutition differential) is $30,319

    The net cost for off-campus delivery (including program fee and NS government rebate) is $30,397.40

    All fees are subject to modest annual increases of 2-3%.

  • Other than Sydney, where do you offer courses?

    Our MBA in CED is offered on our Sydney, Nova Scotia campus, on full-time and part-time basis. It has been offered in different Canadian cities on a part-time basis. At present there are offerings in Toronto, Kingston, Edmonton, Saskatoon, and Whitehorse.

  • Do I need to have a business degree to enter into the MBA in CED?

    Certainly not!  The MBA in CED degree is one that rounds-off an undergrad degree and any career background. In fact, many of our MBA in CED students do not have a business degree.

  • Do I need to have a degree to get into the MBA in CED program?

    Our MBA in CED program is open both to people starting their careers and more mature experienced professionals. Candidates who do not have an undergraduate degree can be accepted into the Cape Breton University MBA in CED if they have extensive managerial and community experience and show potential for success in graduate studies.  In addition to the completed application form with non-refundable application fee, you will be required to provide a resume detailing employment experience, skills, community interests; three references, a 4-6 page essay and satisfactory performance in an interview.  Also provide copies of a diploma or equivalent academic credential (if applicable) and official transcripts of any completed undergraduate courses.
