George Unsworth Chair in Accounting

As the first holder of the George Unsworth Chair in Accounting, John MacKinnon, FCA, envisions the Chair as a means to promote the advancement of accounting as a curriculum opportunity that prepares graduates to work in today’s global environment, to share research knowledge with the accounting profession and strengthen contributions to both the local and international community, particularly through support and education with and for the non-profit sector.

These objectives complement CBU’s goals to enhance the focus on accounting as a major cornerstone of the Shannon School of Business while at the same time recognizing, in a lasting and appropriate manner,  the professional and community  contributions of  George Unsworth, FCA, an Honorary Doctorate of CBU.
