The Cape Breton University Chemistry Society’s focus is to promote chemistry knowledge and research through CBU students. The society holds a number of fundraisers each year in order to attend the annual APICS Chemistry Conference held in May. The conference allows CBU Chemistry students to get an understanding of the wide ranging undergraduate and graduate chemistry research being conducted in the Atlantic Provinces.

It also gives CBU students the opportunity to present their research through poster and/or oral presentations. The Chemistry Society regularly provides information on upcoming chemistry seminars within the university. As well, the society has performed numerous “Chemistry Magic Shows” at CBU’s Annual Open House to spark the public’s interest in chemistry.
