Annual Atlantic Undergraduate English Conference

The Annual Atlantic Undergraduate English Conference (AAUEC) gives students the opportunity to share their research and creative work with their peers from around the region. CBU has hosted this conference twice, including, most recently, in 2015, and sends students to participate every year. The conference provides a friendly environment within which students can present their work, network with their counterparts from around Atlantic Canada, and thereby gain a broader perspective on their field of study. Many students find that the camaraderie and inspiration provided by this conference make it a highly rewarding experience.

Opportunities to Act in/Work behind the scenes on plays at the Boardmore Playhouse

For nearly fifty years, CBU students have been enriching their education by participating in plays and other performances at The Boardmore Playhouse. The script you write in Playwriting class may be produced at the annual One-Act Play festival. You might study Hamlet in English class one semester, and then star in it the next. Whatever your skills are – singing or dancing, building sets or finding audiences  – they can all be celebrated and cultivated amid the lights and sounds of CBU’s finest tradition, The Boardmore Playhouse.

Student Exchanges: we have had some very successful exchange students in English.
