Watch the sunset at Chimney Corner Beach
In my opinion Chimney Corner is one of our most beautiful beaches, so of course we want you to watch a beautiful sunset there!
Where is Chimney Corner Beach?
Chimney Corner Beach can be found on the west side of the island. If you’re coming from Sydney, take the Trans Canada / Cabot Trail toward Margaree. You will pass the Duck Cove Inn, and see a bridge on your right. Instead of crossing the bridge, turn left onto Shore Road. Drive down Shore Road for 9km, and turn right onto Chimney Corner Beach road (a dirt road).
What to do?
While waiting for the sun to set you can spend your time swimming in the ocean, or playing in the freshwater that flows through the sand into the sea. To the left side of the beach you will see an old collapsed boat shack that you can explore or continue along the trail past the boat shack to find a truly amazing view on top of the point.
This is a very sandy beach and continues to be sandy as you swim out into the water. You will be able to find many small lobsters in the water minding their own business so watch your toes!!
As some of us may know the sun rises in the east and sets in the west, with this beach being on the west side of the island we are sure you won’t be disappointed!
